CANADIAN NATURAL
GLACIAL CLAY-TREASURE FROM CANADA UNDER PREHISTORIC GLACIERS
THE ORIGIN
Canada is a privileged land with vast untouched wilderness and abundant resources, bestowed with precious natural gifts. Being second world's largest country, most of Canada's small population lives in the southernmost part of the country along the U.S. border. Much of Canada's north and rugged coastline is virtually untouched.
On the west coast, Canada is bordered by miles of rugged Pacific coastline. The shores are shrouded in mists where the vast Rocky Mountain chain falls gently to allow the giant fir and cedar trees of the primordial forest to grow in abundance.
It is along this Pacific Northwest coast, the Bella Coola River flows from high in the Rockies down to the Pacific Ocean. It is in the region of the Bella Coola River where the Bella Coola people have lived since the land was peopled. It is here that Canada's glacial clay is found.
THE BIRTH OF GLACIAL CLAY
8 million years ago, Canada was covered by glaciers. The magnificent glaciers have retreated over time, leaving Canada with 20% of the world's water resources. This is the charmed land of Canada Northwest, a rare sleeping beauty with uncovered treasures underneath.
Through thousands of years of transformation, the Rocky Mountains, in a cycle of condensation, continue to provide water to three of the world's oceans. This lifegiving moisture drips onto the hydrographic apex of Western North America. From the summit of Mount Snow Dome, this same water flows into three of the world's oceans: the Arctic, Atlantic and the Pacific.
Canadian glacial clay was born from this process, developing over a million year, from melting glaciers which left, in small pockets, its treasures of glacial clay. The clay, washed by the flow from the Rockys much like the grinding process, turned into granules so tiny that they are finer than the mist.
BELLA COOLA, HOME OF GLACIAL CLAY
Glacial Clay was first discovered by the Bella Coola Indians. The tribe resides along the Bella Coola River in northwestern British Columbia. It was at the confluence of the Bella Coola River and the Pacific Ocean where, centuries ago, the tribe built a permanent village of cedar plank houses.
There’s a long history as to the discovery of glacial clay. To put it briefly, the Bella Coola Indians’ culture was much based on spiritual essence. The culture was passed down through the many legends. The dominant figure in Bella Coola legends is the Thunderbird, which the tribe holds as their supreme guide and savior and brings the gift of glacial clay from Mother Earth, as the legend tells. Long long ago, many Bella Coola people suffered from a gastrointestinal disease. They were extremely emaciated and lost their labor force. Many young people died of the disease. At a time of great helplessness, Thunderbird proclaimed to people: hurry to collect glacial clay deposited in Bella Coola River and eat it like medicine! People did so, and it turned out to be very effective, and people recovered from the gastrointestinal disease.
If it's just a legend, then the Taoist, who was also a doctor in the tribe at that time, their discovery is more convincing. The Bella Coola tribe is ruled by the chief, and the second most powerful one under the chief is the Taoist, because people believe that they have the ability to drive out evil things, which makes their position in the tribe more reliable. Taoists believe that most of the natural herbs on earth have therapeutic effects. After a generation of experiments, they discovered the amazing medical value of glacial clay. When the skin is red and swelled, bruised or bitten by insects, glacial clay has a therapeutic effect on it, and it’s also effective on acne and sensitive skin.
For centuries, indigenous peoples have used glacial clay to treat ulcerative colitis, duodenal ulcer, arthritis, neuritis, phlebitis, skin irritation and burns.
The Bella Coola people believed that glacial clay was one of the natural treasures provided to them. In the summers, glacial clay acted as a natural antidote to guard the Bella Coola Indians against sunburns; in the early spring it protected them from insect bites. It was the only toiletry for cleansing their skin. It was also treasured as a medicinal salve for healing irritated skin.
EVOLUTION OF GLACIAL CLAY
More than five decades ago, a Taoist from the Bella Coola tribe brought a small package of glacial clay to a trusted and honored friend, Tom May. He knew that Tom was interested in the development of natural resources and development of natural skin care products, and recounted the qualities of the glacial clay and its legends and its stories.
Curious about the glacial clay, Tom May made the difficult trip into the northern wilderness to finally reach the region where the Bella Coola River runs into the Pacific and to visit the source of the legendary glacial clay.
After repeated analysis of the clay, Tom may found that Glacial Bay’s marine clay deposits are inter-tidal and submerged in clean Pacific seawater 75% of the time, they are refreshed with micro-nutrients from marine phytoplankton on a daily basis, which has proven to be very beneficial for skin and body care. Test results show that our clay has a neutral pH balance of 6.9 which is desirable for many different applications. Also, it has been proven through Certificates of Analyses (lab reports) that our clay possesses remarkably high levels of beneficial minerals in conjunction with low heavy metals, the combination of which is ideal for skin and hair product formulations,
Tom may also found that as time went on, large numbers of precious mineral deposits flowed down the river and settled in the ice bed belt after the compression, friction and washing of glaciers. Throughout the journey, these minerals gain energy through the hydrolysis process, which creates a negative charge. It is this negative charge and necessary nutrients that give glacial clay strong natural healing performance, which helps to reduce burns, cuts, stings, insect bites, etc., and promote healing.
The positive bacteria will be attracted by the negative ions in the glacial clay, which can help deep cleaning and detoxification. It can help clear acne, remove dead skin cells, reduce wrinkles, eczema and rosacea and help with other common skin diseases. Also, it can whiten the skin and improve the circulation, and make the skin glow with new luster.
Dr. Hauser says glacial clay can draw infection and absorb any matter deleterious to the healing of the wound because of its powerful absorption action., May 26, 1951)
Dr. Panion says that during the past year in his private practice, he has treated nearly 100 cases of arthritis with the clay and Vitamin E, achieving good results in many cases where the disease was not too far advanced. He reports,” Cases of arthritis which have developed definite degenerative changed in the joints cannot be restored to normal. But the chronic inflammation can be reduced to a minimum with the result that the pains and spasm disappear.” (Miracle Mud, THE VANCOUVER DAILY PROCVINCE MAGAZINE SECTION, SATURDAY, May 26, 1951)
Dr. York told a group of Vancouver chemists and veterinarians that he had used the clay successfully to treat scours in pigs and mastitis in cattle in the Fraser valley. He says he found it superior to other antibiotics normally used to treat these animal ailments. (Miracle Mud, THE VANCOUVER DAILY PROCVINCE MAGAZINE SECTION, SATURDAY, May 26, 1951)

Tom May, recognizing glacial clays' unique qualities, developed a mine near Bella Coola.
MINING OF GALCIAL CLAY
It’s extremely hard to mine the glacial clay.
Favorite Climate
First of all, it is necessary to reach the climatic conditions for mining. The temperature of mining can only be reached in less than 3 months in summer every year, and mining can only be carried out in the bay until the sea water ebbs. According to the formation process of glacial clay, glacial clay mines can only be excavated in the glacial bed zone in the bay. Only when the tide is low can the mine appear, and at this time, the ship can be close to and dig. Glacial clay is always frozen in the ice bed of the Bella Coola tribe in the northwest British Columbia aboriginal reserve. The desolate Bella Coola mine has a mining area of only 400 acres, about 4000 feet deep, and an area equivalent to 300 football fields.
Geographical Convenience
The way to Bella Coola mine is remote and there is no road to reach, so we can only take helicopter or boat. And the glacial clay is deposited in the ice bed belt, so it is difficult to mine. The collected clay shall be packed in sealed professional vessels to isolate pollution possibilities. Then, it is transported to the factory in southern Canada for production by more than 2000 kilometers of waterway. Mining is difficult and time-consuming. There are only two mines around the world for professional cosmetics, both located on the northern West Coast of British Columbia, not far from each other. Because it is not renewable, it is extremely rare.
Good People Relations
Glacial clay is a non-renewable resource. The Canadian government limits the amount of mining, so the mining of glacial clay requires a mining license issued by the Canadian government. And the glacial clay mining area belongs to the aboriginal protection area, so the permission of the tribal chief is also required.
Processing of Glacial Clay
When the raw material enters the factory, it will go through a high-tech biochemical process. In the automatic control sealing equipment, the clay will go through the processes of panning, washing, screening, grinding, steaming, irradiation, etc. to ensure the clay:
1st, to kill bacteria. After laboratory tests, no harmful bacteria can be found in the products, reaching a zero bacteria rate;
2nd, to remove the impurities. The purity of the glacial clay from the ice bed has been quite high. It imitates the process of melting and flowing of glaciers. After soaking in pure glacial water, it is washed and filtered. After treatment, its purity can reach more than 99%;
3rd, to remove the salty and fishy smell. As the glacial clay is generated in the ocean, with the salty taste of sea water, the original clay has a little fishy smell. Therefore, it is necessary to desalinate the glacial clay and remove the fishy smell.
4th, refine the clay to make it fine and fine, with the texture of silk. The whole process will take four and a half months.
Canadian laboratories have strict quality inspection to ensure the high quality of products. Without artificial additives, Canada glacial clay has best preserved the natural ingredients.
NATURAL ORGANIC COMPONENTS OF GLACIAL CLAY
Since the glacial clay came out in 1970s and 1980s, it has been favored by the world. Professor Dr. Ernst A. Hauser, the world's most authoritative leader in colloidal chemistry, visited British Columbia from 1950 to 1951 and spent nearly a year studying glacial clay. During one visit to Vancouver, Dr. Hauser said, the particles of material must not be larger than 0.001 of a millimeter and they may be so small that even the powerful electron microscope will not reveal them. These infinitesimal particles may take the form of plates, long threads or tiny cubes-and one cubic inch of them would have a total surface area of more than half a million square inches! This figure is reached by measuring all the surfaces of each tiny particle. According to Professor Hauser 's analysis, the main components of glacial clay are 52% silica and 19.40% alumina. It contains many other elements, including oxides and lime. Professor Hauser even asserted that this kind of glacial clay has a stronger role in cleaning skin than other mud skin care products. In addition, the purity is the highest. There are only four kinds of mud that can be used for beauty care in the world, including volcanic mud, mine mud, Jordan Dead Sea mud and Canada glacial clay. If we compare their production environment, the former mud is much more polluted by nature and man-made than glacial clay. The findings were also reported in local media. Professor Ernest Hauser also confirmed the fineness and reaction absorption ability of glacial clay, pointing out that the huge surface area of colloidal particles of glacial clay can cause strong absorption. (Miracle Mud , THE VANCOUVER DAILY PROCVINCE MAGAZINE SECTION,SATURDAY,May 26,1951)

The glacial clay is unique in the world. There are few people there. The clay comes from the Rocky Mountains. After hundreds of years of glacial extrusion, friction and erosion, the original clay has been silky and delicate. After half a month of refining, the purity is far beyond that of volcanic mud.
From the perspective of nourishing skin, the mineral and trace elements of Canada glacial clay is higher than that of volcano mud which is popular in the market. The famous Northwest Laboratory made a comparative experiment between 250 grams of Canada glacial clay and Jordan Dead Sea mud. The number of trace elements in glacial clay is more than three times higher than that in dead sea mud, and the total oxides are higher than that in dead sea mud except for calcium and potassium. The loss of combustion is about 11 times lower than that of dead sea mud. The lower the loss of combustion is, the better the mud quality is. Research from UBC (British Columbia) laboratory in Canada also confirmed that glacial clay can kill antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
The so-called ESKAPE pathogens — Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, klebsiellapneumoniae, acinetobacterbaumannii, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and enterobacter species — cause the majority of U.S. hospital infections and effectively ‘escape’ the effects of antibacterial drugs.
“Infections caused by ESKAPE bacteria are essentially untreatable and contribute to increasing mortality in hospitals,” said UBC microbiologist Julian Davies, co-author of the paper published today in the American Society for Microbiology’s mBio journal.
“After 50 years of over-using and misusing antibiotics, ancient medicinals and other natural mineral-based agents may provide new weapons in the battle against multidrug-resistant pathogens.”

PRECIOUSNATURAL SKIN CARE PRODUCTS
Today, glacial clay is recognized as a beauty clay for deep skin cleansing. Its tiny particles can penetrate into the pores of the skin and deeply clean the skin. Glacial clay has been proved to remove blackheads and reduce acne. It contains natural mineral ingredients like antioxidants, making the skin breathe the fresh air of Bella Coola.
The top ten benefits of glacial clay are as follows:
- Relieve facial redness and relieve the expansion of facial capillaries.
Inorganic elements can soften blood vessels, prevent hardening of blood vessels, restore elasticity of capillaries.
2. Strong desensitization, anti skin sensitivity
It is a natural antidote against heavy metals, which can promote excretion, activate cell activity, improve skin nutrition and immune function, enhance skin self-healing, promote skin regeneration, and promote collagen synthesis.
3. Powerful whitening and eliminating chloasma
It can repair skin, improve skin color and reduce melanin.
4. Eliminate pouch, reduce wrinkle and anti-aging
It can anti fatigue, anti hypoxia, promote cell growth and develop other biological activities, which is known as cell activator and can effectively delay skin aging.
5. Eliminate acne and cicatrization
Zinc can accelerate wound healing, enhance the ability of body repair function, and sulfur can disinfect and sterilize.
6. Unique effect of removing dead skin and shrinking pores
The adsorption of positively charged nitrogen ions in bacteria in glacial clay can remove the excess fat of dirt and keratinized skin (dead skin) cells, enhance cell activity, maintain skin elasticity and shrink pores.
7. It can eliminate heavy metal poisoning such as lead and mercury in the face
Glacial clay has adsorption and ion-exchange properties. It can remove folliculitis, dermatophytosis, acariasis, and inhibit the reproduction fungi.
8. The principle of glacial clay's function on skin
Glacial clay is easy to penetrate into the skin, generally no more than 5 minutes, reaching the dermis, supplementing the microelements needed by the skin, increasing the cell activity and regulating the skin function, so as to achieve the therapeutic effect.
9. It has certain effect on medical treatment
If the skin appears edema, abrasion, scald, mosquito bite, the application of glacial clay can reduce symptoms, because of the mineral composition.
10. Role in spa project
Glacial clay has a strong adsorption capacity. When doing spa, the body is covered with clay, every pore in the body can enjoy the effect of deep cleaning and whitening, as if the body is baptized by nature.
